Who: Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ)

What: Due to Hurricane Iisaias causing widespread power outages throughout New Jersey, ACNJ's virtual rally, Strolling Thunder, will be rescheduled for Wednesday, August 12th at 10:30 AM.

Parents, advocates and legislators will gather remotely to take part in an action-packed morning to learn how they can best be a voice for their babies. Our guest emcee will be LaGuardia Cross, host and creator of New Father Chronicles. Advocacy efforts include reminding state and federal representatives to remember babies in the budget, calling out to sufficiently fund the child care sector and recognizing the need for quality supports for children and their families. There will also be prize giveaways, a book reading of Antiracist Baby, sing-alongs and baby yoga.

Why: The COVID-19 pandemic has radically transformed our society, but has especially impacted the already frail child care sector. Families and providers can use the tools learned through this workshop to work with the state and federal government to enact impactful and lasting changes to create a better tomorrow for babies in the Garden State.
