New Kids Count Reports Detail the State of New Jersey's Children

Who: Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ), a KIDS COUNT grantee of the Annie E. Casey Foundation 

What: Advocates for Children of New Jersey is hosting a virtual release of their New Jersey Kids Count 2020 Pocket Guide and Data Dashboard, providing pre-pandemic data for the state and each of the 21 counties that will serve as benchmarks as we examine the impact of COVID-19 and monitor the state’s recovery. The release also coincides with the national KIDS COUNT report, Kids, Families and COVID-19: Pandemic Pain Points and the Urgent Need to Respond, a 50-state report analyzing how families are faring during the COVID-19 crisis, developed by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Why: The COVID-19 pandemic has radically transformed our society and we know that households are struggling. By providing pre-pandemic data on child well-being, as well as a snapshot of how children and families are currently coping with the public health crisis, ACNJ hopes policymakers, state and local leaders will use these data products as a tool for informed decision-making.
